HMSHost Celebrates Grand Opening of Lorena Garcia TAPAS y Cocina at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Small plates, espresso bar, signature cocktails featured at new Terminal A restaurant
DALLAS — Millions know and respect Lorena Garcia’s cooking style and now Dallas Fort Worth International Airport travelers can get a taste of her vibrant cuisine. Today global restaurateur HMSHost, joint venture partner Frank Howell of F. Howell Management Services Ltd., Lorena Garcia, and the airport celebrated the grand opening of Lorena Garcia TAPAS y Cocina at the airport’s Terminal A.
“It is an honor to bring this restaurant to Dallas Worth International Airport. Lorena Garcia is one of the country’s most prominent Latin chefs and her local and national charisma and innovative approach to small plate dining really shines through on the menu at the new Lorena Garcia TAPAS y Cocina,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi. Lorena and the airport have been great partners in bringing this exciting dining experience to travelers.”
Airport guests will find a menu of creativity in the flavor-packed small plates at this lively establishment, whose selections include tapas such as olives españoles, yucca fries, black bean & queso fundido, and ropa vieja. Lorena’s use of creative, vivacious flavors and healthful ingredients are also apparent on the chefs specials or ‘especialidades’ section with dishes such as the char grilled churrasco steak with chimichurri sauce, or the prickly pear baby back ribs that are slow cooked in the restaurant’s signature bbq sauce.
“We are thrilled about opening Lorena Garcia TAPAS y Cocina for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport travelers. This restaurant is a great success for the Lorena Garcia brand and I am excited for travelers to try our delicious menu items,” said Lorena Garcia. “We have been partners with HMSHost for many years and are very proud to continue that relationship at this new restaurant.”
Travelers will find this modern tapas and coffee restaurant to be an area of respite during their travels. The design, in addition to the aromas of espresso and food, is what imparts a feeling of relaxation and is defined by light woods, copper tones, splashes of red, and lively photographs of Chef Lorena on the walls.
“As a global superhub, we are expanding our concessions program to offer a variety of world-class cuisine and healthy options to satisfy any taste,” said Chris Poinsatte Chief Financial Officer at DFW Airport. “We know our DFW Airport customers will enjoy the vivacious flavors that are the hallmark of Chef Garcia’s Latin dishes.”
Local Texas wines from the Becker Vineyards, Duchman Family Winery, Flat Creek Estate, and Messina Hof can also be enjoyed. The beer list features the likes of Sol Bebidas, Pacifico, Estrella Damm, and Modelo among others. Taking the beverage experience to the next level, any beer can be used as the feature ingredient to make a house-made michelada. The cocktail list has two sections: ‘los clasicos” and “el nuevo” with inventive drinks like the classic caipirinha made with leboln cachaça, lime, and cane sugar or a tamarindo made with maestro dobel tequila, tamarind nectar, apple cider, and tamarind-brown sugar.
This is the second restaurant HMSHost and Lorena Garcia have partnered to open in an airport; Lorena Garcia fans can also find Lorena Garcia Tapas at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Interanational Airport in the International F Concourse.
