HMSHost Brings Swiss Chalet to Travelers at Toronto Pearson International Airport
Canadian franchise adds local history to dining offerings at Toronto Pearson
TORONTO — Global restaurateur HMSHost celebrated yesterday the grand opening of Swiss Chalet at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Swiss Chalet joins the other 30 restaurants operated by HMSHost to create a diverse, quality dining experience at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This is the second Swiss Chalet location at Toronto Pearson, following the extremely popular Terminal 3 location. The new location is located pre-security in the departures level of Terminal 1, so travelers can enjoy a delicious meal before heading through security.
“We are excited to have another Swiss Chalet location at Toronto Pearson for our guests to enjoy,” said Pamela Griffith-Jones, Vice President of Guest and Terminal Services for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “We know our guests are looking for recognizable brands when dining at the airport and the popular Swiss Chalet brand fits this bill perfectly. Now our guests in both terminals at Toronto Pearson will be able to enjoy this great restaurant. Airport Swiss Chalet locations use the same menus and pricing as other Swiss Chalet locations in the area.”
Swiss Chalet has been a Canadian favorite since opening its doors in 1954. Today, there are over 200 Swiss Chalet locations across Canada. Travelers at Toronto Pearson International Airport will be refreshed to find “real food made fresh by real people” which is the way Swiss Chalet has operated since its beginning.
“We are thrilled that all airport travelers coming into and departing out of Toronto Pearson can now enjoy a piece of Canadian history with our famous Rotisserie Chicken dishes and signature flavors,” says Doug Milne, Vice President of Swiss Chalet Marketing.
Swiss Chalet has become famous for its Rotisserie chicken made fresh, never frozen, every day from Grade A Canadian chickens and slow-roasted for 90 minutes in the on-site rotisserie ovens. The most popular menu item is the Quarter Chicken Dinner, which serves up slow-roasted Rotisserie chicken with the famous Chalet dipping sauce, a secret recipe prepared with herbs and spices that can be used to dip just about any piece of the meal, a white or multi-grain roll and a choice of a side dish, including hand-chipped fries made from fresh Canadian potatoes, mashed potatoes, oven-baked potatoes and a fresh vegetable medley. Guests can also choose from the Double Leg Dinner, Half Chicken Dinner, Chicken Pot Pie, Smoky BBQ Ribs, and a variety of chicken-inspired sandwiches.
“HMSHost is proud to help bring such a well-known and loved Canadian franchise to the travelers at Toronto Pearson International Airport,” said Renee Tedesco, Vice President of Business Development at HMSHost. “Bringing a second Swiss Chalet location to Toronto Pearson will allow even more travelers to have the chance to see why the restaurant has remained a local favorite for over 50 years.”
